Today was a nice, productive day at work. I wore my new favorite skirt because it was casual Friday, which for me means cute business outfit day. It's a fabulous vintage Ralph Lauren suit skirt in faded red and off-white stripes (vertical). The red is still sort of red, but is faded almost to pink. It still looks great with the red jade necklace my grandparents gave me last year. One of the greatest things about this skirt is that it has belt loops. My skinny brown belt fits it perfectly, except the skirt rides a little high on my waist for the size of the belt. Well, anyway, back to work. I finished up everything for the big conference that I'm planning for next week, including matching script binders for my boss and me. The sad part of the day was when I realized my ride home was already off on his Memorial Day weekend, so I rode the metro with all the conference materials that I couldn't bring home yesterday.
I made it anyway, and while I was riding, the greatest song of my childhood played on my ipod. I immediately thought, "Thank God Starship made We Built this City on Rock and Roll!" And it's true. That song could be nothing other than divine intervention. Other divinely inspired songs must include, but not be limited to:
-Your Love by The Outfield
-On Earth as it is in Heaven by Ennio Morricone from "The Mission"
-Walking on Broken Glass by Annie Lennox
-Passionate Kisses by Mary Chapin Carpenter
I think I'll stop there. That list could go on forever, but I covered that with the very legal "not limited to" phrase.
So I just finished watching Julie and Julia, and I am about to shower and get ready for Sex and the City 2 with Lisa, Jenn, and Jessica. I am very excited, despite a particulary nasty review I read in the paper this morning. Words like "garish" should not be said of SATC. For shame.
I will do my own review after I've seen it and let you know. I plan to wear my brand new Juicy Couture little black dress to the movie/cocktails. It's fabulous, and if you saw it, you would think so too.
i went to SATC2 tonight and i ALSO wore a LBD! there were pupus and cocktails! it was so much fun!!
ReplyDeletethe movie was fun. whoever wrote "garish" was probably expecting something like Dr. Zhivago. did i even spell that right?
agree! i would say fun...i wrote my disappointed plot review on my latest post, but if a third one comes out, i'd still be just as excited!!! :)
