Finally fall!

It's finally fall in DC!  Today I am cleaning the apartment and swapping out my winter and summer clothes, which is one of my favorite season-change ceremonies.  My most favorite season-change ceremonies are decorating for Christmas and other season-defining holidays, changing out the apt decor, swapping the cotton sheets for flannel (and vice versa), and back-to-school shopping!  I also enjoy bringing the old stuff to the thrift store, which gives me an incredible excuse to shop there.

Next weekend is Halloween, so I bought a bunch of candy yesterday.  Now I'm fully prepared for All Hallows' Eve, and I am planning my annual Hocus Pocus screening with Lisa P!  :)  We will probably watch First Wives Club, too...it's hard to resist, since they both have Bette and SJP as witty leading ladies.

Oh, and Kirkwood is coming to visit!  A few weeks ago, I visited him in Charleston and we drove to Sumter, SC for a family visit.  He met the parents, Suzy and Allen, and Graham and Audrey (see picture above for a gander at the little lady and her pet giraffe).  No, Charlie and Ginsu were not able to come, but soon enough.  Next weekend, he'll be flying up here to DC and we're going to have Halloween together.  I'm so excited! :)
