Catching Up

Sunday was the season premiere of Drop Dead Diva, my favorite new show, and I missed it because Kirkwood didn't want to watch it.  Today, after I dropped him off at the airport I caught up on bills, banking, and the fabulous Lifetime show.  It's weird getting back to normal life, and as great as Drop Dead Diva is, I miss Kirkwood already.  Now I just need to clean up the apartment.

Let's see...what else is going on?  Kirkwood and I saw Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland yesterday night, and I liked it more than he did.  We both expected it to be darker, but I was pleasantly surprised.  There were only a couple parts that we both agreed were stupid, and that was the Mad Hatter's dance after Alice slays the jabberwocky, and Alice's stupid dance after she comes back to her regular world.  Just unnecessary.

Other than that, we spent most of the week exploring Arlington and DC, and going out to eat.  My favorite place we visited was Bistrot du Coin, which is a cute French restaurant at Dupont Circle.  I spoke French with the waiter, who I believe owns the restaurant, and he seemed to appreciate my trying, although I was out of practice.  I also had a little too much wine that night, and bought one of the restaurant's tshirts.  While exploring Arlington, Kirkwood taught me how to understand the numbers and letters on the backs of BMWs and Audis.  He quizzed me regularly throughout the week, even while I was driving and unable to look for whatever car he pointed out.

Well, it's back to life as usual now that the WLS is over and Kirkwood is headed back to Florida.  Now I need to choose between a snack first or a nap first!

  1. Did I or Lisa ever tell you about the creepy unbuttoned shirt date I went on last summer at Bistrot du Coin? Maybe I should have bought one of their T-shirts for him to wear! Haha, but yes, the food is very good :)
