So I went back to work today after a short vacation, and went over to the office where I'll work temporarily as an Admiral's Aide. No one was there. I went back to my regular desk and sent them all emails letting them know that I'm standing by for special and exciting work for the Admiral. They didn't really need me today, so I guess I start tomorrow. This could be interesting because my Admiral and I go to the same church...I envision a hilarious scene in which I receive tasking in line for communion. No, I kid, I kid. He's very nice, and I'm excited to see what being an Aide is like for a couple of weeks.
First full day without Kirkwood in town is over, and I am finally overcoming the withdrawal. Jenn and I went to dinner tonight at Panera, and spent the evening talking about boys. We plan to spend the weekend lying by the pool, and I'm praying that my Real Simple will come in the mail in time for the poolside reading.
First field hockey game is this Friday!! Unfortunately, the last one was cancelled, so Kirkwood never saw my mad skills. Oh well, he probably would've been intimidated...it was most likely divine intervention.
Europe with Mom Countdown is at 15 jours/dias. Other great things that happened today include my Incident Management watch being de-activated for the oil spill. Finally they realized that they can't take so many people from their everyday jobs for months and months. And someone else took up the responsibility, so we are off the hook. I also discovered some delicious turkey sausage this week that tastes just like regular sausage, so I may live longer now. I have, however, replaced the cholesterol with Allouette Creme de Brie, so I may not.
